Our Mission Statement
We, the Children of God called United Methodist in Shunk, PA, who are a God loving Congregation and who believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, seek to present Jesus to the Community around us, by living and serving Christ through witnessing, welcoming, and reaching out in love to our neighborhood and to everyone with whom we come in contact.
The Shunk UMC 125th Anniversary Celebration was a wonderful day full of good food, worship, memories and special music. We were honored to have in attendance Bishop Jeremiah Park whose remarks and mere presence here were an inspiration to everyone! We also were blessed by remarks that were sent to us by former Wellsboro District Superintendent, Rev. Greg Rapp and by former Associate Minister, Pastor Brian Myfelt. The message was given by former Pastor, The Rev. Richard Leonard. Representing Williamsport District Superintendent, The Rev. Beth Jones, was Assisting Elder for the District, The Rev. Edward Prowant. The meal was coordinated by Carol Miller and the women of the church including the Ladies Aid, who cleaned the church in preparation for this occasion.
Special music was provided by Bertha Mae Bagley, Judy Smith, Art Dickerson, Pastor Jerry Schmidt, Phyllis Quail, Don Miller, Ralph Miller, and Melinda Wentz.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this a very special event! (We hope we haven't missed anyone!)
